Didcot Bowls Club's Annual Open Day took place on Sunday 13th May 2018.

This was open to all members of the public that felt they would like to come and have a go at Lawn Green Bowling.
Ages from about 6 years old upwards were welcomed, and after opening at 10am had more that a dozen people show interest in signing up for 6 weeks tuition.
A short tour of the facilities were shown to most of the prospective new members and some information given about how The Club operates.

Over the next few weeks, bowls will be supplied by The Club and tuition will take place. The option will then be given to join Didcot Bowls Club as a permanent member.

If you missed the Open Day but would still like to give it a go, please contact us for further details.
Someone will nearly always be available to give you a couple of hours to try things out, and membership is accepted at any time of the year (pro rata based).

23rd April 2018 marks St. George's Day.

2 days before this on the Saturday evening of the 21st April, Didcot Bowls Club held their second social evening of the year.
What a brilliant evening.
Of course, the theme was "Red and White" and a good many people turned up in those colours.

This was a real fun & games evening for members, their families and friends too.

We had sausage, mash and baked beans/peas, followed by a good selection of homemade desserts.
The bar was open all evening allowing drinks to be purchased. Phew, you needed these as it was such a warm evening.

What a laugh with some of the games played. My sides are still splitting.
Others like a short different game of bingo were a bit more serious.
It was all great fun.

A big thank you to the Social/Entertainments Committee, the Kitchen Staff and Bar Staff for making this what it was.
